By actively participating in regional events for entrepreneurs RSG Capital establishes relations with young entrepreneurs and potential investors and partners. In March we attended TMT.Ventures’09 conference in Warsaw, 29th PODIM international conference in Maribor, and organized a workshop named "Win over an investor in under a minute" (or "Elevator Pitch") in cooperation with Technology Park Ljubljana and CEED Slovenia.
In beginning of March we attended the TMT.Ventures'09
conference in Warsaw and, among others, met with one of the special
guests at the conference, the world-renowned investor in startups Morten Lund.
A workshop named "Win over an investor in under a minute"
(or "Elevator Pitch") took place on March 17 and 18, 2009, in the
offices of Technology Park Ljubljana. It was organized by CEED Slovenia
in cooperation with Technology Park Ljubljana and RSG Capital. Tatjana Zabasu (RSG Capital) and Leo Oblak
(Infonet media) helped entrepreneurs prepare quality presentations for
investors. The event was concluded on March 19 with a simulation of an
elevator pitch. 10 entrepreneurs gave presentations of their ideas
before a panel of judges, made up of Jure Mikuž (RSG Kapital), Aleš Špetič (Zemanta) and Peter Jones (Eden Ventures). Štefan Furlan
from Optilab d.o.o. was chosen as the winner by both the panel and the
audience. RSG Capital has been following Optilab's progress for a while
now, since the director of RSG Capital is also a member of the advisory
board of the young company.
Jure Mikuž, the director of RSG Capital, was also one of the judges entrusted with selecting the best start-up company for the Start:up Slovenija 2009 competition. The winner was announced during a ceremony at the 29th PODIM international conference for entrepreneurs, partially sponsored by RSG Capital. The company G-1 d.o.o. was named "The Start:up of Slovenia 2009" and Optilab d.o.o. was awarded for having "The Best Business Plan".
We also participated in “Podjetna Slovenija 2009”
which was organized by Slovene Enterprise Fund to present Slovenian
support institutions and their programmes for SME’s. The event took
place in Ljubljana, Maribor and Šempeter pri Gorici. At the event RSG
Capital and few other Slovenian venture capital firms presented
themselves as well.
