TAB Systems is a Slovenian company specialized in applications for personal identification and process automation, based on multimodal biometric recognition. They develop and manufacture a complete access control, and time and attendance solution, based on multimodal biometrics using facial and voice recognition, called smarti®, for which they gained several Slovenian and international awards. Smarti® was chosen by the BSIA (British Security Industry Association) as one of the top six products in the world four years in a row, from 2006 to 2009, in the “Best New Access-Control Product” category., In the years 2006, 2007 and 2008 smarti® also received a silver award from the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce for “Best Innovation” and was showcased twice during Slovenian Innovation Forums in 2006 and 2008.

Since October 2004, when smarti® was first introduced on the Security 2004 in Essen, they have developed six new units, the newest one - smarti® ELECTRA was introduced at IFSEC 2009 which is the industry's premier event. At the gala event where the IFSEC Security Industry Awards 2009 were handed out to the deserving winners smarti® ELECTRA was declared as the product of the Year in the Access Control category. Smarti® ELECTRA also received the award for innovation from the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce. This is the fourth time that a smarti unit received this award.
